Job Summary and Qualifications

The OR/Scrub Tech collaborates with physicians and Registered Nurses to serve in a support role within the OR. Responsible for supplies, instrumentation and equipment needed for surgical cases. Proficient in surgical environment as a surgical assistant passing and assisting the physician during surgical cases. Able to create and maintain a sterile field, performing sponge, sharp and instrument counts accurately and initiating corrective action when counts are incorrect (following AORN guidelines)

What you will do in this role:

+ Care and maintenance of surgical instruments

+ Organizational and time management skills required

+ Flexibility in scheduling due to erratic census

+ Demonstrate ability to assist with care of women of childbearing age and the newborn up to two (2) hours of age

+ Support family centered maternity care

What qualifications you will need:

+ Labor and Delivery experience is required

+ Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date

+ High School Graduate / GED

+ Certified Surgical Technician (CST), or Vocational School Graduate, or Work Experience in lieu of Degree
