    Role Summary:

    The candidate will be placed in an interdisciplinary team working towards autonomous driving functions.

    The intern will develop calibration algorithms for the state-of-the-art sensor set on the prototype vehicle custom built for the team’s purposes.

    The internship includes evaluation and implementation of state-of-the-art calibration algorithms to enable better coupling between different sensors within the vehicle.

    Role Responsibilities:

    The intern will work in a multi-sensor calibration project involving LIDAR, camera and IMU data.

    Research and evaluation of state-of-the-art calibration algorithms for and between different sensors.

    Implementation and extension of algorithms in Python or C++ for calibration purposes.

    Integration and optimization of source code for a prototype vehicle.

    Qualifications Qualifications:

    Education-Required:

    Currently enrolled at a University/College in a Bachelor's (Must be a rising Senior), Master's, or PhD program in or Graduation date must be within the last six months

    Skills:

    Student must possess know-how in computer vision, filtering and calibration algorithms.

    Strong background in C++ or Python.

    Experience with ROS/ROS2 framework.

    Experience with Linux systems or embedded devices.

    Fluent in English, German is a plus.

    Specialized Skills- Required:

    Vehicle communication data

    Advanced sensor technologies

    State of the art Environment Perception data

    In San Jose, California, the hourly rates for this role are based on level of education:

    •        Undergraduate (Junior or Senior): $35/hour

    •        Graduate (Master’s): $38/hour

    •        PhD: $42/hour
