Responsibilities:

+ Supervise and manage the microbiology laboratory staff, including training, scheduling, and performance evaluations.

+ Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) for microbiological testing.

+ Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory standards and guidelines, including FDA, EPA, and ISO.

+ Oversee the preparation, analysis, and documentation of microbiological samples.

+ Conduct routine and specialized microbiological testing, including microbial identification and enumeration.

+ Maintain laboratory equipment and ensure proper calibration and maintenance.

+ Monitor laboratory inventory and order supplies as needed.

+ Collaborate with other departments to support product development and quality assurance initiatives.

+ Prepare and present reports on laboratory findings and activities to senior management.

Qualifications Requirements/Knowledge/Education/Skills:

+ Bachelor's degree in Microbiology, Biology, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in a microbiology laboratory, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role.

+ Strong knowledge of microbiological techniques and methodologies.

+ Familiarity with regulatory standards and guidelines (e.g., FDA, EPA, ISO).

+ Excellent leadership and communication skills.

+ Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

+ Proficiency in laboratory information management systems (LIMS) and other relevant software.
