Description
Position Summary:
The Purchasing Buyer is responsible for leading purchasing activities to ensure the timely procurement of materials, components and/or supplies necessary for business operations.
Responsibilities:including but not limited to -
+ Review pricing, vendor terms, and procurement needs using MRP systems and demand forecasts.
+ Monitor and manage inventory levels to ensure availability and minimize shortages or excess stock.
+ Create, process, and track purchase orders, ensuring timely delivery.
+ Maintain accurate lead times and order status within the company’s ERP system.
+ Implement price changes as directed by senior management.
+ Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and new suppliers.
+ Negotiate pricing and terms with vendors to optimize cost savings.
+ Run open order reports to track deliveries and address potential delays.
+ Support logistics, transportation, and warehouse operations as needed.
+ Address and resolve supplier-related issues, including non-conformances, returns, and corrective actions.
+ Reconcile invoice discrepancies with receiving and accounts payable teams.
+ Provide specifications or documentation to internal teams as needed.
+ Other responsibilities as assigned by senior management.
Requirements
Education and Experience:
+ Associate degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
+ 2-3 years of purchasing experience required; 3-5 years preferred.
+ Experience in a regulated industry is a plus.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities:
+ Strong negotiation and communication skills.
+ Detail-oriented with strong organizational and follow-up skills.
+ Ability to collaborate across departments and with external suppliers.
+ Adept in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
+ Ability to multitask, strong sense of urgency in resolving any issues.
Physical Demands:
+ Required to use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, computer controls.
+ May be required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs., stand, bend, kneel, crouch, sit, talk, hear, and walk.
+ Specific vision abilities required include close vision, ability to focus.
Work Environment:
+ Required to be present in the office to collaborate with management, other departments, and vendors daily.
+ Employee travel/work hours/schedule/location and/or shift are subject to change based on business needs and Management discretion.
+ Potential to move between production operations sites/areas to complete job functions.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
+ None.
Personal Protective Equipment or Attire Required for Position:
+ As needed.
Pay Range:
$60,000 - $75,000 per year
