    Job Title: Chief Estimator

     

    Job Type: Full-time

     

    Salary: Competitive, with full benefits

     

    Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8 AM - 5 PM or 7 AM - 4 PM (flexible), weekends as needed

    About the Role

    Our client, a rapidly growing construction firm, is looking for a Chief Estimator to lead their estimating team. This role focuses on pre-construction planning, cost estimation, and bid strategy development for large-scale infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate has extensive experience in heavy civil construction estimating, particularly in public and private sector projects, and a strong ability to manage bid processes from initiation to completion.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Lead the review of potential bid opportunities and assess project feasibility.

    + Oversee and manage quantity take-offs, cost analysis, and pricing strategies.

    + Develop comprehensive bid proposals, ensuring accuracy and competitiveness.

    + Collaborate with project managers and executives to align estimating strategies with company objectives.

    + Establish and maintain relationships with subcontractors and suppliers to secure competitive pricing.

    + Monitor industry trends, material costs, and labor rates to refine estimating processes.

    + Participate in pre-bid meetings, job site visits, and client consultations.

    + Utilize software such as Viewpoint, Bluebeam, Adobe, and HCSS for cost analysis and bid preparation.

    What You Bring

    + 10+ years of experience in heavy civil construction estimating, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.

    + Proven track record in estimating projects exceeding $25 million.

    + Expertise in highway, municipal roadway, mass excavation, and underground utility projects.

    + Strong proficiency in Viewpoint and Bluebeam, with experience in HCSS or Agtek preferred.

    + Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

    + Stability in work history (4+ years per role preferred).

    + Experience with industry leaders such as Webber is a plus.
