    Nuvance Health is a network of convenient hospital and outpatient locations — Danbury Hospital, New Milford Hospital, Norwalk Hospital, and Sharon Hospital in Connecticut and Northern Dutchess Hospital, Putnam Hospital Center, and Vassar Brothers Medical Center in New York — plus multiple primary and specialty care physician practice locations including The Heart Center and non-acute care affiliates.

     

    * *THIS IS A PER DIEM/AS NEEDED POSITION*

    * *GREAT "FOOT-IN-THE-DOOR" OPPORTUNITY!*

    *Summary:

    *Support the day-to-day operations of the Linen, Materials Distribution, Equipment Distribution, and Mailroom. Ensure proper supply levels and urgent requests are handled in a timely manner.

    *Responsibilities:*

    * Key support in Materials Distribution area: ensure linen, equipment, supplies, and mail are adequately maintained and delivered in cooperation with the nursing staff in all clinical areas.

    * Use routine methods or hand-held devices to determine nursing unit usage: whether linen, supplies, or equipment need replenishing per par levels.

    * Follow all procedures for tracking linen distribution and return of unused quantities from the nursing floors and/or user departments.

    * Work in soiled linen room using proper infection control techniques to move soiled linen from laundry chute into transport tubs, then to the storage area. Assist with pick-up of soiled tubs throughout the building and return tubs to the soiled room.

    * In addition to the deliveries of all par supplies, deliver all non-par items including UPS and FedEx, mail, linen requests, equipment, MDC completed orders, and the pick-up of Archives and shipping requests.

    * Maintain a safe work environment and report any potential hazards to the supervisor or manager, the Workplace Safety Manager, or by placing a note into the department suggestion box.

    *Requirements:*

    * Higfh School Diploma or GED and six months of customer service experience

    * Good communication and listening skills gained through daily and direct customer contact

    * Preference given to applicants with medical/healthcare experience

    * Basic MS Outlook and Teams skills

    * Preference given to applicants with/hands-on experience with Warehouse Inventory Management systems

    *Working Conditions:*

    * Significant manual skills/motor coordination & finger dexterity

    * Significant occupational risk

    * Physical effort - may exert up to 50 lb. force

    * Some exposure to dirt, odors, noise, human waste, etc.

     

    Work Type: Per Diem

     

    Work Shift: 6:00am-3:30pm, M-F, occasional weekends

    Exempt: No

    Pay Rate: $17-21/hr./DOE
