Therapeutic Recreation, TRD Full Time

What You'll Do:

As a Therapeutic Recreation / Activities, you will help develop and oversee a vibrant and engaging activities program in our communities. Your creative and compassionate approach will contribute to the overall well-being and happiness of those we serve.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Assist director to develop, implement, and oversee therapeutic recreation programs for residents

+ Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess residents' needs and preferences

+ Provide leadership and guidance to the therapeutic recreation team

+ Organize and facilitate a variety of opportunities for entertainment, exercise, relaxation, and expression while fulfilling residents' basic psychological, social, and spiritual needs

+ Create a warm and inclusive environment that encourages resident participation

+ Evaluate the effectiveness of programs and make adjustments as needed

+ Assist the familes of physically, emotionally, and cognitively impaired individuals to explore appropriate hobbies and leisure activities

What You'll Bring:

Qualifications of an Assistant Director of Therapeutic Recreation / Activities:

+ Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field

+ Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (CTRS) credential preferred

+ Proven experience in developing and leading therapeutic recreation programs

+ Strong organizational and leadership skills

+ Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities

+ Compassion and empathy in working with seniors

+ Interest in the needs of the aged and the chronically ill with the ability to work with both

+ Creative mindset with excellent organizational interpersonal skills

+ Ability to collaborate with team members, residents, and families to create a positive and inclusive environment
