What you’ll do as a Telecom Aerial Lineman

+ Install and repair aerial telecommunications cable

+ Safely use hand tools and equipment such as; wrenches, drills, ladders, lanyards, saws, lashers, climbing hooks, and more

+ Safely operate mechanized equipment such as; bucket trucks, digger derricks, excavators, and more

+ Set up safety perimeter using signage, cones, safety barriers

+ Flag traffic when required

+ Understand separation and clearance regulations

+ Safely work aloft using climbing hooks and ladders

+ Maintain safe working habits/conditions according to all regulations, procedures and policies

What you’ll need

+ To be at least 18 years old

+ To be authorized to work in the United States for this company

+ Be able to pass a DOT physical exam, resulting in a valid medical card

+ A valid standard Driver's License or Class A Commercial Driver's License (preferred)

+ Previous construction experience, preferably in the telecommunications industry

+ Knowledge of established aerial cable installation procedures and techniques

+ To be able to climb telephone poles and work in a bucket truck and work aloft and climb poles up to 40 feet

+ To be able to perform all duties in telecommunications construction (such as; pole transfers, maintenance builds, new build, cable installation, over lash, and strand construction)

+ To be able to work over-time; after hours; on weekends, for emergencies or on-call

+ Be able to maintain a safe work environment

+ Be able to work in all weather conditions

+ Be able to travel when travel is required

Physical abilities & exposures

+ Routinely : Lift/Carry 50 lbs

+ Occasionally: Lift/carry 75lbs

Salary Range $27.00 - $33.00 / hr
