    About the UnitCorewell therapists perform a complete biomechanical, musculoskeletal examination to determine any movement impairments causing the patient's injury or performance deficits. Manual hands-on techniques are integrated with the customized, functionally progressive exercises programs for the core and extremities. The ultimate goal of therapy is to return each patient to their optimal functional level. Treatment is provided for all levels of dysfunction related to the musculoskeletal system of the spine and extremities including all cervical, thoracic and lumbar spine, shoulder, elbow, wrist, hand, hip, knee, foot/ankle orthopedic conditions. Equipment and educational opportunities available at this location: Vibration plate, Universal exercise unit, LE Serial Casting, Schroth Method certified-pediatric focused, Theratog equipment, Ultrasound and Functional Electrical Stimulation equipment.Scope of Work: The physical therapist is responsible for examining, evaluating and developing a treatment plan for patients with functional limitations and disabilities. PT’s provide consultation to healthcare providers regarding a patient’s continuum of care. The individual in this position is required to appropriately interact with all patients regardless of age or culture and to adhere to the Corewell Health customer service standards. Standard Qualifications:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential duties. Education / Training : Bachelor’s Degree in Physical Therapy required. Masters or Doctorate Degree preferred. Work Experience :

     

    + Written or verbal communication skills required. Word processing and computer skills required. It is preferred that pediatric therapists have NDT certification and competency in serial casting.

    Certification, Licensure, Registration :

    + Michigan State License in Physical Therapy required.

    + BLS certification required.
