    Job Summary

    The Department of Integrative Biology invites applications for one or more fixed term, non-tenure-track full/part time Instructor positions to teach on a term by term basis for the 2024-2025 academic year. Some of these appointments may be reviewed for renewal or transition to an instructional position on an annual basis at the discretion of the Department Head.

     

    Instructors may be needed to teach lecture courses in undergraduate Biology and/or Zoology during fall, winter, spring and summer terms 2023-2024. Additionally, instructors may be needed to teach Ecampus courses for Zoology majors. Ecampus courses are fully developed and would not require development time. Instructors will join a dynamic and innovative instructional team and be supported in course delivery and logistics by the department.

     

    The Department of Integrative Biology plays a central role in the core missions of the College of Science. The department is home to the Biology and Zoology undergraduate majors and offers baccalaureate core course offerings that reach every undergraduate major at OSU . The department has world-class faculty with research expertise focused at the level of organisms, populations and communities. The graduate program is internationally recognized in the areas of conservation biology, evolutionary biology and marine biology.

     

    The College of Science provides a core instructional role at OSU , supporting the ideals of learning, discovery, and engagement that are the foundation of a land-grant university.     Key Responsibilities

    100% – Instruction:

    + Will administer and teach 1-3 on-campus undergraduate courses in Zoology and/or Biology.

    + Will hold regular office hours to assist students with coursework and answer questions regarding curriculum.

    + Will promote and embrace diversity, equity and inclusion within the scope of this work.

    What You Will Need

    + Master’s degree in Biology or a related life science field.

    + Evident commitment to educational equity.

    What We Would Like You to Have

    + PhD degree or advancement to PhD candidacy in Biological Sciences or related field.

    + Teaching experience at the college or university level.

    + A demonstrable commitment to promoting and enhancing diversity.
