Description

A thriving, fast-paced and high-volume law firm specializing in civil litigation defense, is seeking an experienced Litigation Associate with 2+ years of experience to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney who thrives in a fast-moving environment and is eager to work on a diverse range of challenging litigation matters. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil defense litigation, excellent legal research and writing skills, and the ability to manage multiple cases in a busy practice.

This litigation associate role offers mentorship and development in a friendly and collaborative environment.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Independently manage a caseload of civil litigation defense matters, including pre-trial preparation, discovery, motion practice, and trial support.

+ Draft, review, and file pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and responses.

+ Manage all phases of discovery, including taking depositions, coordinating expert witnesses, and drafting discovery responses.

+ Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and mediations.

+ Conduct legal research and prepare case summaries, memoranda, and reports.

+ Assist with trial preparation, including preparing exhibits, witness lists, and trial binders.

+ Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.

+ Maintain communication with clients, opposing counsel, and court personnel in a professional and efficient manner.

+ Handle high-volume casework with strict deadlines and multiple priorities.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ 2+ years of experience as a litigation associate, with a focus on civil defense litigation.

+ Strong knowledge of state and federal court rules and procedures.

+ Experience with discovery, motions, depositions, and trial preparation.

+ Ability to handle a high volume of cases and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.

+ Excellent legal writing and communication skills.

+ Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously.

+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

+ J.D. from an accredited law school; admission to the state bar.

+ Experience with insurance defense, personal injury defense, or other areas of civil defense litigation is a plus.
