• Civil/ Highway Designer

    We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Civil/Highway Designer to join our New Haven, CT office.

    Responsibilities

    + Assist in the design and development of conceptual design alternatives into contract plans, specifications, and construction estimates for highway, roadway bridge, interchange and draining projects

    + Assist in the design of ADA compliant facilities, including sidewalks, shared-use paths and intersection curb ramps

    + Assist in the design and production of traffic control and staging plans and traffic, signing and striping plans

    + Assist in the production of engineering reports and other technical documents

    + Attend occasional field visits and meetings to gather data or assist in construction inspections

    + Create 2D and 3D design models with computer design software such as: AutoCAD, OpenRoads and AutoTurn

    + Work in coordination with H&H offices across the country to deliver projects that make roads safer

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering

    + EIT certification and prior internship experience (preferred)

    + Zero-three years of experience

    + Microstation V8i, Bentley OpenRoads experience (preferred)

    + Experience with CTDOT and/or the CTDOT Highway Design Manual (preferred)

    + Strong math skills and proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint

    + Excellent communication skills and the ability to work well in cooperative team environments
