    Required Skills:

    Software Engineer, Network Responsibilities:

    1. Develop software to scale the production network.

    2. Work with networking devices and protocols.

    3. Integrate with other systems and evaluate third party solutions.

    4. Collaborate with Network Engineering team to automate various processes, build software infrastructure for network monitoring and analysis, and aid in capacity planning and architecture change analysis.

    5. Design and implement how to build, model, analyze, and monitor current networks.

    6. Work on spanning data center networking architecture (e.g., OpenFlow or similar technologies for software defined networking) and software systems to configure, monitor, analyze, model, and manage our datacenter, backbone, and content delivery networks.

    7. Build and improve load balancing functionality in service of high scale public products.

    8. Participate in an on-call rotation for critical tier services responsible for all product content delivery.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    9. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Applied Sciences, or a related field. Foreign degree equivalent accepted.

    10. Requires completion of a university-level course, research project, internship, or thesis in the following:

    11. 1. Network devices (routers, switches, or load balancers) and routing protocols

    12. 2. Web traffic related to data centers and websites

    13. 3. Design and implementation of network management systems

    14. 4. C/C++ and Python

    15. 5. Systems programming, TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SPDY, DNS, and load balancers

    16. 6. MySQL databases

    17. 7. Linux operating system

    18. 8. Debugging issues within custom code.

    Public Compensation:

    $212,748/year to $240,240/year + bonus + equity + benefits
