SUMMARY
The Ultrasound Technologist is responsible for performing ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved techniques and producing quality scans for physician interpretation
SOME SPECIFIC DUTIES MAY INCLUDE
+ Reviews medical record for patient history and clinical data for correlation with sonogram
+ Positions patient, explains procedure, and provides patient education
+ Performs ultrasound procedures on patients of every age utilizing approved protocol Displays knowledge of cross-sectional anatomy, pathology, and/or physiological data to obtain optimal studies
+ Assumes care for physical and psychological needs of patients during procedure
+ Selects technical factors and imaging mode
+ Evaluates sonogram for technical quality and prepares for physician interpretation
QUALIFICATIONS
+ Graduate of an accredited Radiologic Technology or Medical Sonography Program
+ Current ARRT certification and/or Medical Sonography with registry eligibility
+ RDMS (Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer) preferred.
+ SKILLS: Ability to operate ultrasound equipment and produce quality images. Ability to follow oral and written instructions. Ability to communicate with patients, visitors and employees within the organization.
+ Ultrasound experience preferred
