    **POSITION:** Sr. Molding Process Engineer

    **DEPARTMENT:** Engineering

    **REPORTS TO:** Vice President Product Development

    **FLSA STATUS:** Non-exempt

    **JOB DESCRIPTION:** Provide management, oversight, and technical expertise for all Engineering and New Product Introduction (NPI) molding projects and activities and tooling. This involves supporting development timelines, molding process improvements and validation activities, and serving as the Flexan SLC molding Subject Matter Expert (SME).

    KEY ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Promote Safety First in all Molding areas, equipment, processes, and procedures.

    + Ensue Master Molder I Trainer / Resource. Flexan customer / ILC Dover Molded component Support as Flexan SLC Thermoplastic Molding SME.

    + Support Flexan Quote Manager (Cost and NRE Input for all Tooling Related Quotes).

    + Tooling (Mold) Design Support.

    + Tooling Vendor Support.

    + Mold Equipment Vendor Support.

    + Support and oversee Molding Process Development, Validation and Optimization.

    + Support Molding Related Cost Improvements Projects (CIP).

    + Resource for Molding Process Transfers to other facilities.

    Minimum Qualifications:

    + Four-year degree in a technical field (or equivalent) preferred.

    + Ten years of molding experience in the Medical Device Industry preferred.

    + Master Molder 1 Certification.

    + Excellent written communication and computer skills.

    + Sound understating of molding process validation and associated theory / tools.

    + Sound understanding mold tooling Design for Manufacture (DFM).

    Physical Demands

    + The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.

    + The employee is frequently required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.

    Work Environment

    + The position requires work in a clean room environment and is expected to follow the guidelines and rules for working in the cleanroom. This includes following the gowning procedure, cleanroom manufacturing procedures, and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).

    + While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is [frequently/occasionally] exposed to moving mechanical parts and operating molds.
