Description
The Freight & Logistics Specialist is responsible for the movement of materials and products between suppliers, manufacturing, warehousing, and the customer\. This position will track transportation assets and systems to gain greater service, cost efficiency and optimization of processes\. The Freight & Logistics Specialist will work on various projects with a diverse portfolio of project types and clients\.
+ Responsible for tracking and tracing all inbound and outbound shipments of tools and equipment to include UPS, less than load \(LTL\), and full truckload \(FTL\) for jobsite, Fabrication, and Tool Center\.
+ Monitor Heavy Haul shipments for tools and equipment and communicate with vendors and subcontractors for shipment details\.
+ Responsible for the development of shipping lists for Fabrication and Tool Center deliveries\. Responsible for the accuracy of lists\.
+ Coordinate with Estimating department to distribute quotes to Fabrication and Tool Center\.
+ Request and review quotes from carriers for all shipments of tools and equipment\.
+ Coordinate with Procurement to verify tool and equipment orders are accurate and on\-time for use in Fabrication and Tool Center\.
+ Assist in fulfilling tool orders to ensure timely completion\.
+ Verify and code freight invoices to maintain an audit ready state and meet payment deadlines\. Process shipment invoices for payment\.
+ Review all vehicle DOT requirements such as licensing, compliance, and auditing for Tool Center\.
+ Oversee the renewal and distribution of vehicle and trailer registrations\.
+ Support department and project budgets for transportation requirements\.
+ Review industry trends and recommend practices to enhance cost containment and cost avoidance\.
+ Maintain vendor and subcontractor relationships to ensure reliable communication and on\-time and cost\-effective deliveries\.
+ Enter and maintain status of all company approved CDL drivers, equipment \(including onboard GPS\), and inspections\. Maintain auditing procedures for all assigned carriers\.
+ Compile ad\-hoc reporting as required\.

Qualifications
+ Bachelor Degree in Business, Supply Chain, Logistics, or a related field and 4 years of related experience
+ Applicable experience may be substituted for the degree requirement
+ Experience with shipping and receiving in Manufacturing or Construction Industry required\.
+ Basic understanding of transportation contract terms and conditions required\.
+ Experience with international shipments preferred\.
+ Strong knowledge in Microsoft Professional Office software \(Excel, Word, PowerPoint\)\.
+ Strong written and verbal communication skills\.
+ Ability to work methodically and analytically in a quantitative problem\-solving environment and demonstrated critical thinking skills\.
+ Strong attention to detail, facilitation, team building, collaboration, organization and problem solving skills\.
+ Demonstrated leadership skills\.
+ Must meet standards to qualify for and maintain the Company's vehicle driving privileges as outlined in the Company's Motor Vehicle Safety Policy\.
+ Candidates must be legally authorized to work permanently \(i\.e\. without time limitations, without restrictions or without need for work sponsorship\) in the country where this position is located\.
