13091BRJob Description:The Management Associate program is our entry level program for college graduates to help accelerate their professional development. Management Associates are provided between 12-24 months of training across multiple functional areas with work assignments designed to assist in both personal and skill-set development. The role may include rotational assignment(s) within the department. This program is designed to strengthen leadership capabilities to prepare the college graduate for advanced roles within our operations or in a number of disciplines that support our operations. U. S. Steel has an opening for a Management Associate – Operational Excellence within the Gary Works manufacturing organization.
Job Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
+ Drive culture change to instill focus on fact-based management practices via the use of Lean Six Sigma and other problem solving methodologies
+ Prioritize multiple projects to ensure proper allocation of people and financial resources
+ Accountable for defining, visualizing and managing performance metrics for work area
+ Conduct problem solving investigations of real issues in plant operations
+ Interact with the operations personnel and provide real solutions to the problems of operating a multi-billion dollar manufacturing facility.
+ Manage small projects on your own using the DMAIC method, including preparing and submitting the business case, initial planning, development of the scope of work, cost estimation, implementation, tracking and calculating benefits.
+ Following successful completion of this program, participants will be placed in entry-level management positions within the manufacturing organization at one of U. S. Steel's facilities.
Candidate Requirements:
+ Degrees preferred: B.S. in Engineering or related technical, Math, Statistics, Economics, Supply Chain, etc.
+ Must have graduated within the last three years from an accredited college or university at the time of hire
+ Must have less than three years of professional work experience
+ Minimum 3.0 Overall GPA
+ Good communication and computer skills

+ Quick learner
+ Experience analyzing data through Minitab, Excel, etc. and creating visualizations through Tableau, SQL a plus
