    Are you interested in becoming a Certified Nursing Assistant at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center?

     

    EMMC is offering a FREE Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training program!

     

    This excellent program is hosted at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center. This 40 hour per week PAID position, at $17.75 per hour consists of 24-32 hours of class and clinical experience, with the remaining hours spent as a Patient Experience Aide in the float pool. If you are accepted in the program, you will be a full-time employee while earning your CNA certificate. Internal candidates will be transferred to our Supplemental Staffing department to work in a clinical role as a Patient Experience Aide.

     

    There are many benefits to this program. In addition to working towards becoming a licensed State of Maine Certified Nursing Assistant, you are eligible for all the AMAZING benefits we offer including Medical, Dental, and Vision.

     

    Upon successful completion of the program, you will be placed in a full time CNA position at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center, with the eligibility to receive a $3,500 sign on bonus upon completion of your probationary period and a pay increase to $21.00 per hour! Regarding the sign-on bonus of $3,500, the first half to be paid out with your first paycheck of assuming your C.N.A. position and the second half after 6 months of service. Per IRS guidelines, payments are subject to tax. In accepting this bonus, you are required to sign a promissory note, prior to receiving these funds, committing to work for Northern Light EMMC for 1 year.     *Internal candidates would have to be considered as a promotional advancement from prior position to be eligible for sign on bonus*

    All applicants must meet the following criteria:

    Participate in a pre-admission interview

     

    Pass pre-employment background check

     

    Take the CASAS reading test at Bangor Adult Education, paid for by NL EMMC. Must obtain a 240 or higher

     

    If currently enrolled in or hold a bachelor’s or associate degree from a US-accredited institution, we will accept proof of that degree in lieu of the CASAS

     

    Work 40 hours a week while in training

     

    Once certified you will be placed into a full time, 36 hr, CNA position at EMMC in one of the following- the following departments:General Surgical/ (Merritt 3)Cardiac Telemetry (Pavilion 6 & Grant 4)Respiratory/Oncology (Grant 6)Neuro/Ortho (Grant 5)
