    Our Planning and Development Services department has an opening for a Right-of-Way Permitting Specialist, to help review and approve drainage plans, right-of-way, and culvert permits. The ideal candidate has three (or more) years of experience in construction/maintenance, contract-applicable construction trades, or in a field providing technical/supervisory services to construction/maintenance contractors.

     

    This position starts out paying $21.63/hr and goes up to $25.00/hr (based on experience) , benefits begin within 60 days of hire, and there are advancement opportunities. Apply today!

    About the Position

    If selected, you will inspect private, public, and County-owned property to ensure compliance. You will also provide back-up support for Land Development Inspectors in their inspection activities.

     

    We are hiring for two tiers of this role (Tier II or Tier III), see below for more information on responsibilities...

    Level II:

    + Review all Right-of-Way Use permits submitted to Land Development as part of the permit process for compliance with the Unified Development Code.

    + Provide on-site inspections of private, public, and County-owned property; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, statutes, and County ordinances.

    + Provide backup support for Land Development Inspectors in their inspection activities.

    Level III:

    + Review all Right-of-Way Use permits submitted to Land Development as part of the permit process for compliance with the Unified Development Code.

    + Provide on-site inspections of private, public, and county-owned property; ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, statutes, and County ordinances.

    + Provide support in review of subdivision and site and development permit plan reviews.

    + Provide backup support for Land Development Inspectors in their inspection activities.

     

    About the Schedule

    Work Hours:

    + Full-Time, 40 hours per week.

    + Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. ( No weekends! )

     

    About You

     

    To thrive in this position, you must have -

    Level II:

    + A High School Diploma or its equivalent -AND- Three (3), or more, years of experience in construction/maintenance, contract applicable construction trades, or in a field providing technical/supervisory services to construction/maintenance contractors.

    + -OR- College or university-level training in an appropriate field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience.

    + Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.

    Level III:

    + A High School Diploma or its equivalent -AND- Four (4) years of related experience; Two (2) of which, must be in related inspecting experience.

    + -OR- College or university-level training in an appropriate field may be substituted on a year-for-year basis for the required experience

    + Valid Florida Driver's License by date of hire.

     

    Subject to Passing Substance Screening: This position is subject to passing a pre-employment substance screening. An applicant who fails to pass a required drug screening test shall be disqualified from employment in any class for a period of five (5) years.

     

    About Everything Else

    Level II:

    Starting Pay Range: $21.63- $22.50 based on experience

    Level III:

    Starting Pay Range: $23.56 - $25.00 based on experience
