Responsibilities

JOB OVERVIEW

+ Adheres to safety, food safety, quality, and legal compliance.

+ Knowledgeable in PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock-out/tag-out, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP.

+ Perform all work in accordance with environmental, health, and safety standards, rules, regulations, and practices of the facility.

+ Must be able to pass training/certifications as required for qualification.

+ Observe and analyze equipment performance and report any probles to the supervisor.

+ Keep area clean and free of safety hazards.

+ Document completed work as required by the supervisor.

+ Compliance with all other duties as assigned.

JOB SUMMARY: Assist machine operators on the fresh beef packaging lines, and/or pack frozen meat patties into boxes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

+ Adheres to safety, food safety, quality and legal compliance.

+ Knowledgeable in PPE, OSHA, MSDS, lock-out/tag-out, GMP, SSOP, and HACCP

+ Perform all work in accordance with environmental, health and safety standards, rules, regulations and practices of the facility.

+ Must be able to pass training/certifications as required for qualification.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

+ Ability to wear personal protective equipment and/or clothing.

+ Stand/walk 7 or more hours per day.

+ Constantly talk/hear throughout the day.

+ Constantly use eye/hand coordination.

+ Constantly bend/twist/turn and use eye/hand/foot coordination.

+ Occasionally squat, grip/grasp, use fine motor tasks and handle/finger.

+ Frequently/constantly lift and carry up to 50 lbs at waist height when moving patty boxes up to 15 feet.

+ Push patty boxes requiring up to 50 lbs of force 3 feet.

+ Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision.

ENVIRONMENTAL/ATMOSPHERIC CONDITIONS:

+ Constantly work in damp, wet, humid and slippery environments.

+ Constantly work near moving equipment in extreme heat/cold (40-45 degrees).

+ Constantly work in high noise levels requiring hearing protection.

+ Frequently exposed to fumes or airborne debris.

+ Occasionally work with toxic or caustic chemicals.

+ Occasionally exposed to segmental vibration.

MACHINES/TOOLS/EQUIPMENT/SOFTWARE:

+ Bump cap, hair net, safety glasses, hearing protection, and smock.

+ Rubber and cotton gloves.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: Education and experience equivalent to:

+ High school diploma or GED.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

+ None

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

+ Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.

+ Ability to write simple correspondence.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

+ Ability to use mathematical functions including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division in accordance with production paperwork.

+ Ability to perform these operations using units of weight measurement, volume, and distance.
