ANCC Magnet designated UPMC Passavant is currently hiring a Full-Time Cardiology Technician to support the McCandless location.

Shift Details:

+ Four 10 hr. shifts

+ Typical shift is 6:30am - 4pm

+ Alternating every other weekend

+ Shifts will be further discussed during the interview

Responsibilities:

+ Prepare patients for visits.

+ Demonstrate Service Excellence behaviors.

+ Room and interview patients.

+ Set up equipment.

+ Document vitals, medications, and patient data in electronic records.

+ Order office supplies.

+ Assess health history, take vital signs, and review medications.

+ Provide care to adult and geriatric patients.

+ Perform six-minute walk tests.

+ Document in the ER.

+ Complete protocol forms and communicate with clinical nurse coordinator and physician.

+ Review and notify personnel of abnormal results.

+ Assist with exercise stress tests.

+ Use electronic medical records (EpicCare).

+ Receive diagnostic study results (lab work, EKGs, X-rays).

+ Perform charge entry for testing.

+ Download and maintain holter, remote, and event monitors.

+ Prep patients for holter, remote, and event monitors.

+ Assist with device and pacemaker checks.

+ Maintain a positive attitude towards patients, visitors, medical staff, and co-workers.

+ Coordinate patient visits and schedule additional studies.

+ Draw and process blood samples.

+ H.S. Diploma or equivalent required

+ 2 years of experience as a Medical Assistant, Cardiovascular Technician or a Paramedic is required.

+ Graduate of a Medical Assistant program is preferred.

+ Knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology of the heart.

+ Ability to think and act independently.

+ Computer skills are highly preferred. **Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:**

+ Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

+ Act 34
