Description
Asplundh Tree Expert, LLC, a family-owned leader in vegetation management and utility infrastructure services, is seeking a dynamic and strategic Director of Marketing and Communications to oversee and guide all communications efforts across our global operations. This leadership role will be responsible for shaping and executing the company’s overall communications strategy, aligning efforts with organizational goals, and enhancing brand visibility. The Director will also manage crisis communications, media relations, and will serve as a key advisor to senior leadership.
Key Responsibilities:
+ **Strategic Communications Leadership:** Develop, execute, and oversee the company’s communications strategy to enhance Asplundh’s reputation, mission, and brand.
+ **Crisis Communication & Media Relations:** Lead crisis communication initiatives and manage media relations at the highest level, ensuring consistent and transparent messaging during high-stakes situations.
+ **Alignment with Organizational Objectives:** Work closely with senior leadership to ensure communications strategies align with and support company goals and objectives.
+ **Budget and Resource Management:** Manage the marketing and communications department budget, ensuring optimal allocation of resources to support strategic initiatives.
+ **Team Leadership and Development:** Supervise and provide guidance to a team of managers, fostering a collaborative and results-driven environment. Four direct reports include:
+ Manager of Strategic Communications
+ Manager of Digital Marketing
+ Manager of Marketing
+ Manager of Events
+ **Cross-Functional Collaboration:** Partner with other departments to ensure cohesive and effective communication efforts across all areas of the business, including operations, safety, and customer service.
+ **Brand and Reputation Management:** Strengthen and protect the Asplundh brand through thoughtful, clear, and consistent communications, both externally and internally.
+ **Global and Local Outreach:** Oversee the execution of marketing and communication strategies in the U.S., Canada, Australia, and New Zealand, ensuring cultural and regional sensitivities are addressed.
+ **Safety and Sustainability Messaging:** Advocate and communicate Asplundh’s commitment to safety, environmental sustainability, and community impact, ensuring these values are central in all messaging and branding efforts.
Qualifications:
+ Proven experience in senior-level communications and marketing management, preferably in a large-scale, service-oriented industry (utilities, infrastructure, or similar).
+ Demonstrated expertise in crisis communication and media relations, with the ability to manage high-pressure situations with composure.
+ Strong strategic thinking and the ability to align communications efforts with business objectives.
+ Experience leading and mentoring a team of communications professionals.
+ A track record of successful brand management, public relations, and digital marketing strategies.
+ Experience with budget management and resource allocation.
+ Exceptional written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
+ A deep understanding of global communications challenges and opportunities, with an ability to manage diverse audiences.
