The Principal Architect for ERP/EPM is a leadership role responsible for shaping the architectural vision and strategy for the organization's Enterprise Business Applications (EBA) ecosystem, with a focus on the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) systems, bridging the gap between business objectives and technical implementation. This individual provides technical leadership across all facets of EBA system design, application development, and integration efforts, ensuring that solutions align with both business requirements and architectural best practices. The Principal Architect will conduct technical feasibility assessments, process oversight, and impact analysis to recommend optimal infrastructure and software solutions that support the organization's strategic EBA roadmap.
A key aspect of this role is fostering collaboration and effective communication between business stakeholders, analysts, developers, and other IT teams. The Principal Architect will provide leadership and technical mentorship, creating a collaborative environment that promotes innovation and high-quality solution delivery. This includes a strong ability to articulate complex technical concepts in a clear and concise manner to both technical and non-technical audiences. Excellent communication, proposal, and presentation skills are essential to inform senior management of project status, strategic direction, and the overall value proposition of the EBA architecture.

Major Responsibilities:
+ Promote a collaborative team environment and work closely with colleagues to achieve business objectives.
+ Collaborate with stakeholders (e.g. business stakeholders, product owners, project managers, and end users) to understand functional and non-functional requirements.
+ Define and communicate the architectural vision for the organization's EBA strategy, ensuring alignment with business goals and strategic objectives, including consideration of integration with strategic platforms.
+ Design and architect scalable EBA extensions and integrations leveraging a composable architecture approach, utilizing APIs, microservices, and other modern integration patterns.
+ Establish and maintain an integration strategy for the EBA ecosystem, connecting business functions, defining integration patterns (e.g., API-led, event-driven), and ensuring seamless data flow across systems.
+ Lead data governance efforts within the EBA environment, ensuring data accuracy, consistency, and compliance, as well as promoting data interoperability across integrated systems.
+ Identify and mitigate architectural risks within the EBA system and its integrated systems, ensuring data security, system availability, and business continuity across the enterprise landscape.
+ Provide architectural guidance and oversight for EBA implementation projects, with specific attention to the complexities of system integration, ensuring successful solution delivery and business value realization.
+ Evaluate emerging technologies and integration platforms (e.g., iPaaS), promoting best practices for EBA architecture and seamless data exchange with other systems, driving innovation and continuous improvement.
+ Ensure all EBA solutions adhere to global standards and regulations, supporting multi-currency, multi-language, and localized business processes.
+ Collaborate with business stakeholders, IT teams, and vendors to develop and implement effective EBA solutions and integration strategies that meet business needs and promote cross-functional efficiency.
+ Guide team members in scope of work estimation and forecasting.
+ Performing proof-of-concept or proof-of-technology tasks to get buy-in from cohorts and stakeholders.
+ Preparing and presenting designs, feasibility, and impact analysis of solutions to a variety of audiences from senior management to analysts and developers
+ Producing sufficient architectural and design documentation necessary to properly guide the development teams, items may include: concept/mixed-diagrams, sequence or activity diagrams, entity relationship models, boundary analysis diagrams, and deployment diagrams.
+ Formulate unit and integration tests and conduct functional and performance testing where appropriate.
+ Adhere to and influence established development practices and processes.
+ Practices and adheres to the “Code of Conduct” philosophy and “Mission and Value Statement.”
+ Training and mentoring of peers and other staff
+ Performs other duties as assigned
Education & Experience:
+ Bachelor's degree Computer Science or related field required
+ Master of Business Administration (MBA) Preferred
+ 10+ years of experience in EBA/ERP/EPM business and technical architecture and engineering
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Behaviors:
+ Extensive experience in EBA architecture with a strong understanding of core business processes and industry best practices. Proven track record working with leading EBA systems, such as SAP S/4HANA, Infor, Oracle Fusion, Microsoft Dynamics 365, and Workday.
+ Proven track record of leading architectural design efforts for complex ERP/EPM projects, showcasing the ability to define architectural roadmaps, establish standards, and provide guidance to development teams and stakeholders.
+ Demonstrated experience establishing and maintaining EBA integration strategies, defining patterns (API-led, event-driven) and ensuring data flow.
+ Capable of leading EBA data governance, ensuring accuracy, compliance, and interoperability across integrated systems.
+ Experience identifying and mitigating architectural risks in EBA and integrated systems, ensuring security, availability, and continuity.
+ Proven ability to provide architectural guidance for EBA implementation, addressing integration complexities for successful delivery.
+ Demonstrated capability in evaluating emerging technologies (e.g., iPaaS), promoting best practices and driving innovation in EBA architecture.
+ Experience ensuring EBA solutions adhere to global standards, supporting multi-currency, multi-language, and localized processes.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical information in a condensed manner to various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
+ Excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
+ Ability to sit for long periods of time.
