The Host plays a major role in the hotel’s Food & Beverage experience. The Spirit to Serve is a key element in a positive customer experience. This position is responsible for greeting guests at the door. The host seats and presents clean menus to guests in a friendly, professional and quick manner

Essential Functions

+ Greets and seats guests, presents menus to guests, informs them of any specials

+ Treats all guests in a manner to ensure their complete satisfaction. Always strives to exceed guests' expectations

+ Runs the floor plan board

+ Observes tables and keeps track of clean, dirty and occupied tables

+ Takes guest information and quotes wait times to guests accurately when tables are not immediately available

+ Cleans, organizes and stocks menus at host area

+ Answers phone and answers questions concerning the menu and restaurant

+ Interacts with guests as they arrive and as they leave the restaurant to ensure positive dining experience

+ Maintains specific side-work and ensures the cleanliness and smooth operation of the restaurant

+ Quickly clears and resets tables

+ Maintains restaurant, bar, and restroom space cleanliness restrooms throughout shift

+ Sweeps foyer and front entrance area frequently

+ Fills to-go orders, if applicable

+ Knows when to escalate situations for management intervention

+ Completes other tasks and duties as assigned based on business needs

Required Experience:

Minimum Requirements

+ Previous hotel/hospitality or related service industry experience is strongly preferred

+ Ability to communicate effectively and follow directions in a multilingual environment

+ A passion for the mission, vision, and values of Sherman Associates

+ Schedule may vary due to the specific needs of the hotel
