    Key Responsibilities:

    • Supervision and Leadership:

    • Oversee the daily operations of the unit, including assignment of tasks and performance evaluation.

    • Mentor and train staff, providing guidance and support.

    • Address staff issues and concerns, and implement disciplinary actions when necessary.

    • Ensure that the unit meets federal, state, and company guidelines.

    • Patient Care:

    • Provide direct patient care, including medication administration and other nursing procedures, as needed.

    • Assess patients' needs and adjust care plans in collaboration with other healthcare professionals.

    • Monitor patients' conditions and report any changes or concerns to the appropriate personnel.

    • Maintain accurate patient records and documentation.

    • Coordination and Communication:

    • Coordinate activities within the unit, ensuring smooth and efficient operations.

    • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and other healthcare providers.

    • Participate in meetings and committees related to patient care and unit operations.

    • Act as a liaison between patients' families and healthcare staff.

    • Compliance and Quality:

    • Ensure that the unit adheres to all relevant regulations and standards.

    • Participate in quality improvement initiatives.

    • Monitor and evaluate the quality of patient care provided on the unit.

    • Other Duties:

    • May be involved in hiring and onboarding new staff.

    • May be required to perform rounds, standard nursing evaluation tests such as blood pressures, temperatures, and drawing blood.

    Skills and Qualifications:

    • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) license in New York State.

    • Experience in a relevant healthcare setting.

    • Strong leadership and supervisory skills.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

    • Knowledge of nursing principles and practices.

    • Proficiency in electronic health record systems.

     

    Additionally, you are required to work one weekend day every other weekend on a cart.
