Job Description
The Dialysis Maintenance Coordinator maintains all dialysis equipment and the chemicals used for the safe and effective use by staff and their patients.
Qualifications
Education Requirements
High school diploma or GED.
Experience Requirements
2+ years of experience preferred in Hemodialysis and machine maintenance
Be able to pass the certification course given by equipment manufacturers by their representatives relating to the Dialysis and water treatment equipment.
Have adequate training in be knowledgeable of safety, preparation, and utilization of all chemicals used in the Dialysis unit.

Responsibilities
1. Maintains, calibrates and evaluates dialysis machines and other related equipment used for dialysis treatments.
2. Documents, maintains, evaluates and properly files all reports, repair manifests, microbiological testing and other related documentation.
3. Assists in the preparation of monthly QA relating to all dialysis systems and equipment.
4. Maintains adequate supply of spare parts for equipment maintenance or repair.
5. Reports and documents all equipment malfunctions to Technical Manager, Nurse Manager or Assistant Nurse Manager and other appropriate individuals based on established policy and protocol. Reports equipment deficiencies to direct supervisor.
6. Monitors and maintains water treatment plant.
7. Monitors and maintains unit stock. Places appropriate orders as necessary.
8. Keeps abreast of new equipment, treatment techniques, equipment maintenance bulletins and reports concerning supplies to the unit.
9. Maintains professional relationship with all appropriate vendors to insure good flow of information regarding new developments in the field of nephrology and other issues that may affect the operation of the dialysis unit.
10. Performs and evaluates quality control of dialysis machines and water treatment plant, as per AAMI standards.
11. Responsible for cleaning, disinfection of the dialysis equipment and water treatment plant.
12. Knowledgeable of and properly trained in the safety, preparation, and utilization of all chemicals used in the dialysis unit.
13. Attends seminars, lectures and/or continuing education courses related to maintaining skill level and general knowledge.
14. Works as a member of the Hemodialysis team to maintain, improve, assist, communicate and contribute to highest standards of care.
15. Performs related duties as assigned or requested.

Compensation Statement
Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $37.2736 - $40.2201 Hourly. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
