We are seeking a highly skilled **Organic Chemist** with expertise in **surfactant synthesis** and **molecular biology** to join our team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on cutting-edge projects within the biotechnology and chemical industries, focusing on the synthesis of surfactants and contributing to various molecular biology applications. **Location:** South San Francisco, CA
**Pay Rate:** $35-50/hr
Key Responsibilities:
+ Synthesize surfactants using organic chemistry techniques, ensuring high purity and yield
+ Conduct research and development to optimize surfactant synthesis processes
+ Apply molecular biology techniques to support projects in protein expression, gene cloning, and DNA/RNA manipulation
+ Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design experiments, analyze data, and solve technical challenges
+ Maintain accurate and detailed records of all experimental procedures, results, and observations
+ Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in organic chemistry, surfactant synthesis, and molecular biology
+ Assist in troubleshooting and improving lab processes and protocols
Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Organic Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field
+ Proven experience in surfactant synthesis and organic synthesis techniques
+ Strong background in molecular biology, including PCR, cloning, protein expression, and genetic manipulation
+ Excellent laboratory skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively
+ Ability to design and execute experiments, analyze results, and communicate findings effectively
+ Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking abilities
+ Proficiency in using laboratory equipment, software tools, and data analysis
Preferred Skills:
+ Experience with bioconjugation techniques and surfactant-based formulations
+ Familiarity with advanced molecular biology techniques (e.g., CRISPR, RNAi, etc.)
+ Strong communication skills and a proactive, team-oriented attitude
