Generally, salaries start at the lowest level of a step 1 and increase with each year of service to the highest level of a step 10.

The Position

Clinical Social Workers provide clinical services to clients/inmates in a residential, home, inpatient, outpatient, rehabilitation, correctional or similar setting.

Incumbents perform in a trainee capacity and acquire the knowledge, skills and abilities required in this occupation. OR Incumbents perform basic tasks or elements of the job not requiring the additional knowledge, skills and abilities to perform at the next level in the series.

The Division of Public and Behavioral Health: Rural Clinics (RC) has an opening for a full time Clinical Social Worker 1 (underfill for a Clinical Social Worker 2) at any of our Rural Clinics locations. Rural Clinics provides an array of outpatient behavioral health services for both adults and children in 16 clinics which are located in 12 counties across Rural Nevada. Services are generally provided Monday through Friday from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. Services assist individuals to achieve self-sufficiency and recovery and follow Agency procedures and reimbursement guidelines. Rural Clinics has been designated as a loan repayment site through the Health Research and Services Administration (HRSA) National Health Services Corps (NHSC). Any person providing specific services may be eligible to receive student loan repayment. Rural Clinics provides ongoing training including release time to attend training not Agency-sponsored. This position provides individual and group counseling, case management, and other direct clinical interventions/services for people who are mentally ill and emotionally disturbed. Services include screening and assessments using standardized techniques to determine client eligibility for services and appropriate course of treatment at the least restrictive level possible. This position also works with the consumer and others to develop and monitor the treatment plan, including participation in team meetings and coordinating services among members of treatment team consumer support systems and community entities and evaluating treatment effectiveness. ***THIS RECRUITMENT MAY CLOSE WITHOUT FURTHER NOTICE DEPENDING ON THE NUMBER OF APPLICATIONS RECEIVED. To Qualify:

In order to be qualified, you must meet the following requirements:

Education and Experience (Minimum Qualifications)

Master's degree from an accredited college or university in social work and an internship approved by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Special Notes

Incumbents must obtain and maintain licensure or provisional licensure to engage in social work as a Clinical Social Worker or associate in social work in accordance with NRS Chapter 641B and the regulations adopted by the Board of Examiners for Social Workers.

Special Requirements

A pre-employment criminal history check and fingerprinting are required. Persons offered employment in this position will be required to pay for fingerprinting.

Additional Position Criteria

The incumbent, including those hired into a position as an underfill, must be actively working toward a valid license (e.g., LMFT, LPC, LCSW) and/or have a current internship license, as a condition of employment.
