    CHMC –Children’s MHU-Mental Health Worker– Full Time- Night Shift– 7p-7:30a- Requisition 8283

     

    Pay Range-$18.33-$23.47*

     

    + A Mental Health Worker provides basic physiologic and psychosocial care, together with safety measures and environmental care, for mentally ill patients in an in-patient setting under the supervision of a Registered Nurse. May also be required to sit with a patient in a 1:1 situation if necessary. May be required to float to other departments as needed.

    Qualifications:

    + High School Diploma or Equivalent.

    + BLS Certification and Crisis Intervention training within hospital orientation period.

    + Knowledge and understanding/ability to work with mentally ill patients.

    + Basic Computer knowledge.

    + Maintaining confidentiality of all patient information.

    + Maintaining quality assurance and compliance with all regulatory agencies.

    + Ability to implement and support procedures and programs pertaining to patient safety and security.

    + Exhibit proficient communication skills and ability to deal efficiently and effectively with a variety of personalities.

    + Ability to sustain attention to detail and accuracy as it pertains to the monitoring and documentation of information.

    + Maintaining a safe and clean environment for patients.

    + Acknowledging changes in a patient’s condition or behavior, and promptly reporting these changes to appropriate licensed nursing personnel.

    + Performing various intervention tasks assigned by the charge nurse.
