Our School Nurses impact students’ lives by:

+ Responding with urgency to student health and hygiene needs

+ Obtaining students’ health history; providing health assessments and ongoing counseling with students, parents, school personnel, or health agencies

+ Screening and evaluating deficiencies in vision, hearing, and growth

+ Maintaining, evaluating, and interpreting health data to accommodate individual student needs

+ Developing and implementing student health plans

+ Developing systems and procedures to provide emergency nursing services for injuries and illnesses

+ Administering medication to students, as needed

+ Are qualified to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of Louisiana and hold an unrestricted license

+ Are certified in CPR

+ Have an outstanding record of working in school health, community health, public health, or pediatric nursing

Physical Requirements

+ Regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, hear, operate a computer and other office equipment, reach with hands and arms, and must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds

+ This is an in-person role
