    Summary:

    The Staff Physical Therapists provides patient care assessment and treatment. Identify, plan, and participate in rehabilitative programs that improve mobility, relieve pain, increase strength, and decrease/ prevent deformity. Responsible for mentoring Therapists, Assistants, Technicians, and Students. Collaborates with other healthcare team members and physicians in a multi-disciplinary fashion to deliver the highest quality of care. Participates in CQI activities. Facilitates the provision of excellent customer service.

    Patients and families: Provide patient assessment, care, and information. Address concerns and complaints. Project a positive image of the departmental and hospital Physicians: and other healthcare team members: Promote coordination of care. Address concerns and complaints Community and Business: Provide education. Promote department and hospital.

    Qualifications

    EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

    + Bachelor’s or master’s Degree or Doctorate in Physical Therapy from an accredited School of Physical Therapy.

    PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT

    + None.

    LICENSURE/REGISTRATION/CERTIFICATION

    + Current NC Board of Physical Therapy license or eligible.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIREMENTS

    + Analytical abilities to delegate personnel, problem solve with positive solutions. Good interpersonal and communication skills required to facilitate interactions with stated customers and staff members.

    WORK ENVIRONMENT

    + Exposure to bloodborne pathogens, temperature changes and occasional noxious odors. Stressful work periods occasionally encountered.

    PHYSICAL REQUIREMENT

    + Standing for most of the day lifting/assisting patients with transfers, bed mobility and ambulation as well as their exercise programs.
