    Medical Center Hospital (Odessa, TX)


    Med-Surg/Telemetry is located on 4 Central and is an area of the hospital where special machines are used to help staff closely monitor patients. Patients are under continuous electronic monitoring while on a telemetry unit. This automatically communicates measurements (heart rate, heart rhythm, breathing and more) to a monitoring station for a medical professional to view and evaluate.

    Position Summary:

    Assists the Unit Director with the responsibility and accountability for the management of the unit. Emphasis on independent decision making related to the nursing process. Demonstrates the ability to provide consistent direction for all nursing personnel in planning, organizing, implementing and evaluating nursing activities

    Education:

    Hold a current Texas permit or license as a Registered Nurse. BSN preferred.

    Training and Experience:

    1. Current BLS certification through the American Heart Association upon hire or transfer to department.

    2. Eighteen months full time experience as RN preferred.
