As part of the City University of New York, a nationally recognized metropolitan university system, Hunter is committed to active engagement with students and the community at large, and embraces equity, inclusiveness, and global awareness in all dimensions of our work.
As part of a Palestine Studies cluster hire, Hunter College is honored to announce its search for two open-rank tenure-line professors, with an expected start date in Fall 2025, in Palestinian studies with one in the social sciences and the other in the humanities, broadly defined.

The Humanities hire would join one of the following departments: Art and Art History, Classics/Arabic, English, Film and Media Studies, and/or Music.
We are open to diverse theoretical and methodological approaches and seek historically grounded candidates who take a critical lens to issues pertaining to Palestine, who are interested in public-facing work, and who exhibit a commitment to being part of the life of the college, a diverse and dynamic public and majority-minority undergraduate serving institution. The duties of the incoming faculty will be research, teaching, and service to the department and college. The incoming colleagues would be ready to develop and teach intellectually and/or creatively challenging courses and engage in collaboration with others across the college. We welcome innovative scholarship and pedagogy that spark our students’ imaginations and understanding of their social worlds.
