Ferguson is seeking a Manual Machinist to join our team at our Norfolk, VA Pump Repair Facility!

Schedule: Monday - Friday 7am - 4pm plus overtime as needed

Scheduled times can be flexible

Responsibilities:

+ Setup and maintain machines in the shop for pump fabrication.

+ Accurately measure, record, and draw pump components. Example of measuring tools (Vernier Calipers, Micrometer, Inside Micrometers and indicators).

+ Read and analyze design drawings, work orders, and production schedules.

+ Set up and operate manual machining equipment such as VTL, Horizontal Boring Machine, & Lathes.

+ Support teardown and assembly of pumps when machining not required.

+ Observe vital safety precautions for fabrications, cutting, assembling, stacking, and shipping of equipment and parts for storage and transportation.

+ Operate powered industrial equipment in accordance with OSHA guidelines and Ferguson safe operating procedures.

+ May be responsible for providing driver duties and responsibilities

Qualifications:

+ Inside machinist experience required

+ Must be at least 18 years of age.

+ Valid state issued license is required.

+ Ability to work with little direction while building tools or fixtures for production.

+ Strong conceptual skills

+ Strong communication skills and a positive attitude

+ Ability to remain results-focused in the fast-paced customer service environment.

+ Welding experience a plus
