    SUMMARY:

    The Hunterdon Center for Surgery is seeking a Certified Sterile Processing Department Technician to perform all functions of Sterile Processing.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    Provides instruments, equipment, and endoscopes used at the facility that are processed per manufacturers' instructions for use, and in accordance with nationally recognized guidelines.

     

    Provides required documentation of processing to ensure quality and to meet State and Federal requirements.

    REQUIREMENTS:

    High School Diploma is required. Certification in Sterile Processing is required. Certification in Endoscopy Processing is Preferred.

     

    Minimum 2 years employment in a Sterile processing Department is required.

     

    Must achieve and maintain certification as a Central Services Technician with the state organization or a national association.

     

    Must have a thorough knowledge of aseptic techniques and procedures, sterilization techniques and procedures, infection control and work-flow principles and requirements, equipment and supply processing; demonstrate and exercise responsible judgment to provide necessary supplies and equipment for patient care. Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing. Use of sterilizers (steam, Sterrad) as well as endoscope processors. Ability to handle high stress, high volume.
