    Job Summary of the Vascular Technologist

     

    Responsible for performing diagnostic procedures through the use of ultrasonography techniques to include to perform vascular exams. Demonstrates anatomy for interpretation by a Cardiologist/Radiologist. Exercises professional judgment in performance of services.

     

    Qualifications of the Vascular Technologist

    EDUCATION:

    + **Certificate of successful completion from an accredited school of vascular ultrasound.**

    + **Associate Degree in Diagnostic Ultrasound**

    EXPERIENCE:

    + **One year of vascular imaging experience/ultrasound experience.**

    LICENSES & CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

    + **Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) with American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) with Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI)**

    + **Preferred: ARDMS in AB, OB/GYN and/or BR or RDCS by ARDMS or CCI**

    + **Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date**
