    Job Summary and Qualifications

     

    As a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT), you will administer respiratory care to patients by the attending physician. You will conduct diagnostic procedures to evaluate the need for, and response to, therapy.

     

    + You will initiate, monitor, and maintain mechanically ventilated patients

    + You will administer and monitor respiratory care treatments

    + You will record pertinent information in patient’s medical record

    + You will perform noninvasive and invasive diagnostic tests and monitoring

    + You will perform cleaning, preventative maintenance and calibration of respiratory care equipment as required

    + You will function as respiratory care protocol assessor

    Job Qualifications

    Experience

    + Acute care hospital experience – preferred

    Education

    + Graduate of approved Respiratory Certification Program

    Licenses and Certifications

    + Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) credential by the National Board of Respiratory Care (NBRC)

    + Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license by the State of Texas

    + Basic Life Support (BLS) certification as per St. David’s HealthCare policy

    + Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification as per St. David’s HealthCare policy – required within 90 days of hire
