    Job Title: Sr. Risk Consultant (RCSA- Business/Operations)

     

    **Location:** Charlotte, NC (Hybrid)

    **Pay Range:** $58.29 per hour

    About the Role

    We are seeking a **Sr. Risk Consultant (RCSA- Business/Operations)** to join a leading organization in the financial services industry. As part of the Chief Operating Officer (COO) department, this role will provide crucial support to operational risk management efforts. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to risk management.

    Key Responsibilities

    Risk Management Expertise

    + Independently manage 1-2 Risk Assessable Units (RAUs), also referred to as RCSAs, including drafting and oversight.

    + Conduct risk identification, develop risk measures, and perform control identification, design, and ratings in collaboration with RAU Owners.

    + Oversee risk management activities, including addressing issues, managing operational risk events (OREs), and facilitating process changes.

    + Act as a subject matter expert (SME) on risk and control for assigned service models and related processes.

    Gap Remediation

    + Identify and address gaps in the issue management process proactively.

    + Design and implement solutions to remediate control or process deficiencies.

    + Partner with business teams to design and implement risk mitigation strategies.

    + Provide risk management consulting to identify emerging risks and develop actionable mitigation strategies.

    + Participate in business routines to maintain an in-depth understanding of processes and operations.

    + Monitor assigned control activities to ensure compliance with requirements.

    + Escalate issues as needed and provide actionable risk recommendations.

    Desired Qualifications

    + Experience designing effective controls, governance programs, and issue resolution processes.

    + Knowledge of issue management processes and root cause analysis.

    + Familiarity with regulatory controls and enterprise risk management frameworks, including:

    + Control testing

    + Risk identification

    + Risk appetite and strategy

    + Risk-related decisions and processes

    + Risk analytics and governance.

    + Proven experience with Risk Control Self-Assessment (RCSA) activities and concepts.

    + Strong operational, compliance, or audit risk management experience in financial services (commercial or corporate/investment banking preferred).

    + Ability to proactively manage and mitigate issues.

    + Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

    + Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).

    + Strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and excel in a fast-paced environment.

    + Demonstrated ability to build partnerships and collaborate across business and functional areas.
