Full-time position

Hourly wage based on experience: $18.00-$21.00

Apprentice Mechanic learns to performs work of considerable difficulty in the repair and maintenance of vehicles and equipment over a preset timeline.

Responsibilities:

Ability to learn to perform all functions below and to succeed into transitioning into a level C mechanic.

+ Preventative maintenance inspections on power unit and trailers

+ Lube, oil and filter on power units

+ Air brake component removal and installation

+ Routine electrical repairs

+ Tire removal and installation

+ Suspension component replacement I.E. airbags

+ Perform routine bolt on component replacement, i.e.: alternator, starter, a/c compressor, air compressor, torque arms but not limited to these items

+ Ability to run torches, plasma and some minor welding required 18

+ + Perform minor hydraulic repairs, i.e.: hose replacement and valve replacement

+ Able to perform wheel end replacement and diagnostics

+ Anti-lock brake component replacement

+ Must have or be in the process of having NYS Inspectors License
