This Director of Cyber Security Engineering role will be focused on SIEM Platform, Cyber data analytics and automation. The individual will be responsible for leading the design & development of data-driven security solutions to protect Ally's assets, data, brand, and consumers in a cloud-first, consumer-friendly operating model. This role will require a skilled professional with strong technical expertise in data engineering, analytics, and automation to partner with IT Architecture, IT Engineering, IT Operations, DevOps, and business leaders. This role will be responsible for ensuring that cyber security data and reporting is available to make data-driven decisions and that Ally's people, technologies, and processes are adequately secured and monitored to meet cyber security regulations. Additionally, this role will be responsible for overseeing the design, implementation, and optimization of advanced security operations, working closely with security teams to enhance detection and response capabilities. The role will lead a team of skilled engineers and collaborate with other departments to ensure our security operations are proactive, efficient, and resilient against emerging threats.

The Work Itself
* Provide strategic direction and technical leadership for the cybersecurity engineering team responsible for SIEM platform.
* Oversee the development and deployment of AI & ML models to identify anomalies and predict security threats.
* Collaborate with data scientists to refine and optimize AI & ML algorithms.
* Integrate AI & ML-driven insights into the broader security infrastructure.
* Develop and implement automation strategies to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of security operations.
* Foster a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
* Lead, mentor and manage a team of engineers, ensuring their professional development and career growth
* Identify business risk and communicate risk to appropriate leadership
The Skills You Bring
* 10+ years of experience in technology with a focus on automation, ML, and data pipelines.
* Strong analytical problem-solving and decision-making skills
* Bachelor's degree in a STEM field or Computer Information Sciences
* Proficient in scripting technologies such as Python, PowerShell, and APIs
* Familiarity with ETL platforms, Relational databases & Cloud data warehouse, and data visualization tools like Power BI or Tableau
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work with various stakeholders
Preferred Qualifications:
* Experience with SIEM & public cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, etc.)
* Expertise in cloud-native technologies and implementation patterns to drive innovation and efficiency
* Experience with Agile methodologies and collaborative work environments
* Familiarity with enterprise change management

An individual's position in the range is determined by the scope and responsibilities of the role, work experience, education, certification(s), training, and additional qualifications. We review internal pay, the competitive market, and business environment prior to extending an offer.
