Brief Position Overview
The College of Arts, Sciences, and Education at Montana State University-Northern ( MSUN ), invites applications for a tenure track Teacher Education position, anticipated to begin August 1, 2025. This is an academic year (10-month), full-time, tenure-track position with rank determined based on the successful applicant’s credentials and experience. This position is responsible for the development and instruction of undergraduate courses (primarily), and graduate professional education courses using online, in-person, and remote teaching and learning approaches. Faculty work with content-area departmental faculty and jointly advise secondary education students in their content major. Some travel is required to deliver programming and services to students located in Great Falls and at partnering Tribal Colleges. Duties include:
+ collaborating closely with area school districts, including the supervision of field experiences and student teaching
+ assisting with program development, assessment, and accreditation preparation
+ engaging with state and regional higher education consortiums
+ participating in student recruitment, retention, and progression activities
+ participating in scholarship and service activities

Required Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Doctoral degree in Literacy Education, Curriculum and Instruction Education, Educational Policy Studies, or a related field in teacher education
+ Experience in online instruction
+ Experience teaching and working with students from culturally and/or linguistically diverse backgrounds
Preferred Qualifications – Experience, Education, Knowledge & Skills
+ Graduate degree in Reading or extensive training in current (K-8) developmental reading strategies
+ Current or prior licensure and experience in Education at the elementary K-8 or secondary 5-12 level
+ Experience with clinical/field supervision in practicums and student teaching
+ Experience with program development and accreditation
+ Licensure and experience in Elementary Education/Reading
+ Experience teaching graduate education courses
