Position Summary
Reporting to the Director of Human Resources, the incumbent is primarily responsible for ensuring compliance with federal Title IX laws and regulations and related institutional policies and procedures. Responsibilities include effective, equitable investigation and timely resolution of all complaints of sexual violence and sex/gender discrimination. The incumbent will also be responsible for assessing compliance, revising and implementing policies, coordinating investigations, managing case resolution, and leading campus-wide education and training initiatives. The Title IX Coordinator is a key resource for students, faculty, and staff, ensuring a fair, supportive, and compliant process while fostering a safe campus environment.

Major Responsibilities
Title IX:
+ Serves as the initial point of contact for all reports and/or complaints of sexual and gender-based harassment, sexual violence, domestic and dating violence, stalking, and retaliation.
+ Monitors cases and ensures equitable, prompt, and thorough investigations, utilizing trauma-informed techniques as well as reviewing evidence for inclusion or redaction.
+ Serves as a resource for victims, offering supportive measures, assists in connecting victims with outside resources, and provides timely status updates.
+ Assigns cases to Title IX investigators, and acts as a resource for investigators during the process. Helps with the implementation or tracking of relevant case sanctions, supportive measures, interim measures, and remedies as well as case management when needed.
+ Responsible for staying up to date and knowledgeable in the areas of Title IX and Enough is Enough laws.
+ Serve as an intermediary for parties involved throughout formal grievance process (e.g., complaint intake, investigation, evidence and report view, live hearing, appeals, etc.)
+ Retains all relevant investigative records and communications among other relevant documents associated with the complaint process.
+ Responsible for staying up to date and knowledgeable in the areas of Title IX and Enough is Enough laws.
+ Assists in the implementation of the required sexual and gender-based misconduct climate survey and collecting information for the Title IX Annual Report.
+ Compile data reports for various constituents (i.e., Article 129 A & B, Clery Act, Violence Against Women Act ( VAWA ) etc.).
+ Facilitates or co-facilitates various compliance training and relevant programs related to Title IX for all members of the Utica University community.
+ Coordinate training for Deputy Title IX Coordinators, Responsible Administrators, investigators, decision makers and persons hearing appeals on relevant topics relating to their associated roles in Title IX.
+ Serve as a member of Utica University’s Coordinated Community Response Team ( CCRT ).
+ Works closely with Student Affairs, Student Conduct, and Campus Safety among others.
General Office duties:
+ Contributes to the success of the Office of Human Resources by providing information about human resources policy and procedure, acting as a back-up for other positions as needed, working cooperatively with other departments and performing other duties as assigned. May be asked to participate in periods of high volume in areas such as benefits administration (i.e. during open enrollment), employee relations, or recruitment (i.e. during high periods of hiring).
+ Takes an active role in the development of the department’s strategic and operational plans as required by department leadership. Works closely with department supervisor to develop and implement operational goals that support departmental success.
+ Responsible for working with Director of Human Resources and other team members to achieve successful results on all established individual and departmental goals and key performance indicators.

Education & Experience Qualifications
+ Bachelor degree required; Master’s degree preferred.
+ At least three years of relevant experience. An equivalent combination of experience and education may be considered.
Minimum Skills/Abilities
+ Must have excellent investigatory and analytical skills.
+ Must have strong conflict resolution skills and the ability to navigate issues that could become emotionally charged. Strong communication skills are imperative.
+ Must have extensive knowledge of computer database software, spreadsheets, and word processing and the ability to understand integrated computer systems.
+ Requires the ability to perform research set priorities and meet deadlines, perform problem resolution.
+ Must have strong attention to detail.
+ Must have the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information.
+ Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills.
+ Must have the ability to work well under pressure.
+ Must be able to work flexible hours if necessary.
