    Your New Role...

     

    CNN is seeking a rigorous and versatile reporter to join our powerful Washington-based enterprise team for all platforms. We are looking for a journalist with exceptional writing skills, a fast metabolism and the curiosity and creativity to tell distinctive stories. The ideal candidate will be a precise reporter, big thinker and authoritative writer with a track record of delivering engaging stories that have impact. This person must excel at original reporting and crafting compelling pieces that tie together disparate threads on complex topics at a fast pace. A deep understanding of Washington coverage and the federal government is an asset, and a collaborative spirit is a must, as this reporter may partner at times with beat reporters. This reporter must write with clarity and authority, capturing necessary nuance and framing stories around the stakes for people, communities and institutions. This journalist will be expected to use video, images and graphics to tell stories in dynamic formats that engage audiences across CNN’s platforms.

    Your Role Accountabilities…

    + Report, research and write fully-formed and distinctive stories about a range of topics.

    + Utilize strong editorial judgment to quickly and effectively frame stories for accuracy and maximum impact.

    + Ensure stories contain necessary context and nuance.

    + Write clearly and authoritatively.

    + Develop and maintain news sources.

    + Conceive of story ideas.

    + Capable of discussing reporting and stories on TV.

    + Travel occasionally to report stories.

    + Collaborate with other reporters, producers and editors.

    Qualifications & Experience…

    + 5 or more years of reporting experience.

    + College degree or equivalent industry experience.

    + Strong writing, editing and storytelling skills and understanding of storytelling on multiple platforms

    + Ability to work in a fast-paced news environment 24 hours/ 365 days a year

    In compliance with local law, we are disclosing the compensation, or a range thereof, for roles in locations where legally required. Actual salaries will vary based on several factors, including but not limited to external market data, internal equity, location, skill set, experience, and/or performance. Base pay is just one component of Warner Bros. Discovery’s total compensation package for employees. Pay Range: $101,500.00 - $188,500.00 salary per year. Other rewards may include annual bonuses, short- and long-term incentives, and program-specific awards. In addition, Warner Bros. Discovery provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and sick time and vacation.
