    Job Description:

    General Responsibilities:

    Provide archaeological services for a broad array of projects and clients. This may include conducting field work, identifying artifacts, laboratory analysis, writing reports, preparing proposals, and consulting with clients and stakeholders.

    Essential Roles and Responsibilities:

    + Develop understanding and be aware of project-related risk. Be familiar with what could go wrong on a project and how to protect the Company.

    + Lead safety efforts for team and ensure team follows safety rules and guidelines. Responsible for creating and modeling a safe work environment; demonstrates safety practices.

    + Responsible for continuous quality monitoring and improvement on projects. Monitor and promote quality standards and practices.

    + Responsible for providing consistent quality standards on project and proposal delivery.

    + Principal Archaeologist providing guidance and support to projects and people.

    + Oversee project permits, risk, timeline and budget.

    + Senior level scientific professional responsible for leading complex projects requiring innovative investigation techniques.

    + Supervise the analysis and formation of recommendations in written reports and treatment plans.

    + Assist in establishing and updating current policies/ procedures for technical projects in field of expertise, to ensure proper interpretation and implementation by subordinate staff.

    + Provide technical direction and training to less experienced professional staff.

    + Participate in the development of marketing strategies and presentations of qualifications to clients on projects.

    + Mastery of local, state and federal Cultural Resource Management requirements to ensure requirements of each entity are met.

    + Participate as member of the Archaeology practice resource group (PRG).

    + Participate in professional organizations and conferences as a Terracon and industry recognized expert.

    + Pursue new project opportunities as the main contact for clients.

    + Primary Terracon contact with stakeholders, agencies, tribal representatives, and other interested parties.

    + Serves as a Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer.

    + Performs other duties assigned.

    Requirements:

    + Graduate degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, or closely related field (MA, MS, PhD) and a minimum of 15 years of experience.

    + Secretary of the Interior (SOI) qualified.

    + Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history.

    + Registered Professional Archaeologist (RPA) Certification

    + Terracon Authorized Project Reviewer status required
