• Community Resource Advocate, Part-Time or On-Call

    Do you want to make a difference in the lives of individuals? TLC, the Treatment and Learning Centers in Rockville, MD has an opening for an On-Call or Part-Time Community Resource Advocate. We work to assist our clients to gain independence. This is an entry level position assisting adults with disabilities in the community. Examples include: Helping people to learn basic skills with cooking, budgeting, and household chores (cleaning charts, grocery shopping). Assisting people in accessing educational or recreational opportunities in the community (movies, museums, live shows, sporting events, karaoke, physical fitness). Connecting people to community resources such as medical, housing or transportation. EOE

     

    The hours vary and may include some evenings and weekends.

     

    A company car will be provided to all staff when they are supporting individuals.

     

    Rate of pay - On-Call Position is $18 - $19 per hour

     

    Part-Time position is $19.50 - $23 per hour, DOE

    Required Experience for the Community Resource Advocate:

    + Must have an Associate's degree in Vocational Rehabilitation, Psychology, Special Education, or closely related field, direct work experience may be substituted for educational requirements

    + Experience working with individuals with neurological impairments and/or developmental disabilities

    + Must have and maintain a valid driver's license and acceptable driving record

    + Computer literacy is required

    + Must have a car

    + Must be highly organized and able to demonstrate effective time management skills

    + Must be able to work with a team and support team members
