Summary This is a public notice flyer to notify interested applicants of anticipated vacancies. Applications will not be accepted through this flyer. Responsibilities You will serve as training instructor for the organization and resource person in the instructional areas of law and evidence, terrorism, laws of arrest, search and seizure, firearm training and quals, basic criminology, accident investigation,.... You will exercise detention authority and follow established procedures to assist or perform search of persons and or vehicles to seize weapons, drugs, or evidence of a crime. You will conduct lecture discussions, guided conference, and demonstration methods to present law enforcement, investigation techniques, procedures, and practical application. You will provide classroom studies and instruction on practical use of law enforcement equipment, and the application of techniques. You will ensure all law enforcement personnel and security force personnel are in compliance with the agency's training standards and policies governing employee proficiency in the use and care of assigned firearms. You will coordinate, develop and maintain effective relationships with the training community of various Federal, state, and local law enforcement, intelligence, and security agencies. You will perform general law enforcement activities such as assisting the investigation of crimes, processing accident scenes, collecting evidence, and responding to emergency calls, complaints and other calls for service during watch. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-08 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Applying instructional methods and theories used in a formal Police Officer Training environment; Knowledge of effective ways to instruct investigative procedures, techniques, and methods to resolve crimes and other incidents; AND knowledge of developing lesson plans to meet training objectives. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. The President has ordered a government-wide hiring freeze subject to certain limited exceptions. This position is subject to the hiring freeze. Must maintain program height and weight appearance standards. Must meet medical standards for police officers in DoD 6055.05M and NMCPHC-TM OM 6260. Overtime may be required. Required to wear a uniform and maintain appearance and grooming standards per Marine Corps Orders/policies) Must successfully complete a designated entry level training for USMC Police Officers Course of Instruction (Basic Police Officers Course) conducted at a designated location in an academy setting where the candidate will train alongside Marines. Must successfully complete the Marine Corps Range Safety Officer Course and Basic Instructor Certification Course within l year from the date of employment. Must successfully complete National Incident Management System (NIMS), IS-300, IS200, and IS-700 within 2 years from the date of employment. As first responders to chemical/biological attacks, must be able to train and wear personal protective equipment to include mask, suit, boots and gloves. If incumbent is conducting law enforcement operations in navigable waters, incumbent must attend the Inland Boat Operator Training Program at FLETC or similar course. Must successfully receive certifications in the following within 2 years from date of employment: Non-Lethal Weapons Instructor, including Taser, Baton and Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray Small Anns Marksmanship Instructor Emergency Vehicle Operations Course (EVOC) Instructor Speed Measuring Instructor for Radar and Laser Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) Instructor Gas Mask Fit Test
