SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES
The primary responsibilities of the HR Specialist are to drive the hiring process to ensure that open staff positions are filled as quickly as possible with the best talent possible. They will be responsible for managing staff candidates throughout the full recruiting life cycle. A focus of the role is to attract and drive the hiring process for students and recent graduates through various recruitment strategies, including the facilitation of the Internship Program, by building relationships with universities, promoting employer branding, and reporting on recruiting metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES/FUNCTIONS
+ Manage and maintain the Application Tracking System (ATS). Enter resumes and applications, maintain candidate status, post open positions, close positions, screen candidates, communicate with candidates to ensure a positive experience.
+ Conduct initial call to candidates and maintain effective, ongoing relationships with candidates throughout the full lifecycle of recruitment through orientation.
+ Schedule and coordinate interviews, arrange travel and lodging, arrange jobsite visits.
+ Utilize various methods/sites (Indeed, social media, schools, career fairs, current employees, etc.) to source candidates and maintain talent pipeline. Track and manage employee referral program for staff.
+ Develop creative sourcing methods and outreach techniques. Identify and recommend solutions to address challenges and/or opportunities and to streamline and improve recruiting processes.
+ Coordinate and attend career fairs, presentations, activities, job visits, etc. including informational visits to understand student make-up, program details, and school specific internship requirements.
+ Administer the Internship Program by maintaining contact with current and future candidates from career fair through graduation, facilitating relationships between University Champions, Mentors, and Interns, coordinating travel arrangements, and making suggestions for improvement.
+ Create, organize, and plan various forms of training, including training material, for staff employees to fill organizational needs and/or improve job skills. Maintain training records.
+ Maintain knowledge of Jackson, positions, job duties, culture, etc.
+ Assist in other Human Resources functions including employee relations, performance reviews, administration, etc. as needed.
+ Other duties as assigned.

EXPERIENCE & SKILLS DESIRED
+ Four-year degree from an accredited university or college in a related field of human resources, business, management, or equivalent work experience
+ 1-3 years experience in recruiting and/or HR
+ Experience in the construction industry or other high-volume recruiting industries is preferred
+ Preferred experience with the following programs:
+ Microsoft Office Suite including Word and Excel
+ Arcoro or other ATS software
