    Description

    Emory’s Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a visionary leader to be our inaugural division director for medical imaging physics. The division director will work to promote excellence in medical imaging physics in the department across the tripartite mission and lead a group of several medical imaging physicists with subspecialized areas of focus in CT, MRI, and Nuclear Medicine. The group works collaboratively with our integrated technical operations staff, physician practice, and quality & patient safety infrastructure, and is anticipated to expand in number over the next two years.

     

    The department’s 200+ clinical faculty, 1000+ staff, and 130+ residents and fellows serve Emory Healthcare, Grady Health System, Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta, and the Atlanta VA Medical Center. Clinical sites are in the metro Atlanta area, an incredibly diverse, vibrant, and growing community. Emory Radiology is a leader in innovative training and encompasses highly acclaimed educational programs. Our multidisciplinary research teams benefit from bridging academic programs and numerous closely aligned entities across Atlanta.

     

    The ideal candidate will be a seasoned and highly collaborative leader with excellent skills in communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and mentorship. Prerequisites include a demonstrated track record for excellence across all academic missions, and the ability to professionally develop faculty, staff, and trainees.

    Minimum Qualifications

    Applicants must hold a PhD degree in medical physics, physics, or a related field, be certified by the American Board of Radiology or American Board of Nuclear Medicine, or equivalent and have strong track record and clinical expertise in diagnostic medical physics. Faculty rank will be commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and candidates should be qualified for senior appointment at the Associate Professor or Professor rank.
