    Position Summary

    The Morehouse School of Medicine Department of Pediatrics, Division of Adolescent Medicine invites applications for a full time Assistant Professor faculty position. This is a multi-year appointment with a 12-month service period position (July 1-June 30) with an anticipated start date of July 2025

     

    This position will build a career at Morehouse School of Medicine that can impact adolescent and young adult health with a focus on working with adolescents and young adults, families, health care systems, and communities to improve well-being and advance health equity.

     

    Work sessions are defined as half day (4-5 hrs.) clinics. This position offers the opportunity to work 2 clinic sessions per week at Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding and 3 clinic sessions per week at Morehouse SOM’s Student Wellness and Health Center on our main campus. This position also includes serving as course director for Adolescent Medicine for the Morehouse SOM Pediatrics Residency Program.

     

    All Morehouse School of Medicine faculty engage in teaching, research, and service.

    Minimum Qualifications

    The successful candidate will have earned a doctorate degree (MD/DO or foreign equivalent), be board certified or board eligible in Adolescent Medicine with documented expertise in health services research, health policy, epidemiology, psychology, child and human development, sociology, or other relevant fields.

    It is MSM’s Immunization policy that all Prospective Employees are encouraged to provide proof that they are vaccinated against COVID -19 prior to commencement of employment. If employment will commence during Flu Season, MSM requires all individuals to provide proof that they are vaccinated against Seasonal Influenza for the current Flu Season, unless granted an exemption. Failure to provide proof of vaccination for any required vaccines or obtain an exemption from MSM will result in rescission of a candidate’s offer of employment or disciplinary action up to and including termination.
