    The Alaka`ina Foundation Family of Companies (FOCs) is looking for a Research Engineer II to provide research support administration services for our government customer in San Antonio, TX.

    DESCRIPTION OF RESPONSIBILITIES:

    + Resolve novel systems and identify engineering problems which require the development of new techniques or the innovative application of new state-of-the-art technology.

    + Provides support in professional biomedical engineering functions involving medical research practices to support the laboratory’s efforts.

    + Coordinate all design phases with contractor personnel (lab/project managers, other engineers, and technical support personnel).

    + Direct the integration, fabrication, and functional testing of systems after installation to insure that performance meets specifications and protocol requirements.

    + Sets up, operates, and calibrates laboratory equipment in accordance with research protocols.

    + Researches and collects data through complex laboratory/scientific experiments, techniques, and procedures.

    + Assists in the maintenance of a clean and operational lab space.

    + Assists in ordering and maintaining inventory of supplies for research.

    + Compiles and analyzes data using scientific or statistical techniques.

    + Assists with writing and editing material for publication and presentation.

    + Reports on status of research activities.

    + Routes administrative paperwork related to scientific products.

    + Maintains data and records securely, including the use of an assigned laboratory notebook.

    + Develop models of fluid flow in air and liquid systems.

    REQUIRED DEGREE/EDUCATION/CERTIFICATION:

    + Bachelor’s degree plus 2 years’ related experience, or a master’s degree plus demonstrable experience.

    REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

    + Maintain current certification in American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS); American Heart Association Healthcare Provider Course; American Red Cross CPR (Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation); or equivalent.

    REQUIRED CITIZENSHIP AND CLEARANCE:

    + Must be a U.S. Citizen

    + Must be able to obtain a Common Access Card (CAC)
